John Titor was a time traveler from the year 2036 that showed up on various Internet message boards during 2000-2001. During this time he made many posts about the future of mankind.

Introduction




Sometime in 2000, John Titor (pronounced TEETER) began posting on various message boards that he was a time traveler from the year 2036. Although it was dismissed by many at first, Titor stuck with his story and began to back up his claims with photos and rational reasoning. His posts started out on a time travel message board where he posted information about time travel and some images of his time travel device. During this time he posted under the username TimeTravel_0. The name John Titor didn't come about until he was required to use his real name on the Art Bell Forums, which are no longer existent. Although most if not all of these original posts no longer remain on their original sites, they have since been copied to various other sites across the web.
John Titor also went on to describe how he had also been sent back to the year 1975 where his mission was to fix a 5100 IMB computer to prevent Y2K from happened. Apparently Y2K did happen in Titor's universe and that is what escalated the downfall of America.
In the years following there has been a division in people supporting his claims. Some people dismiss him as a total hoax and science-fiction, while others give credence to his arguments and find him fully legitimate. Whether he is real or not, one this for sure - his message was a bit chilling and fairly accurate to what is unfolding right in front of us.

John Titor had many things to say on time travel. He talked about the theoretical physics behind it, and also posted pictures of his time travel machine, along with the manual. How Time Travel Works According To John Titor

According to John Titor, time travel is entirely possible. The way he explains time travel working is in conjunction with one of the laws of quantum mechanics. The law states that all possibly instances of an event are occurring infinitely. Titor claims that the Everett-Wheeler model of quantum physics, better known as the many worlds interpretation, is correct.
In one of his posts Titor explains:

...The grandfather paradox is impossible. In fact, all paradox is impossible. The Everett-Wheeler-Graham or multiple world theory is correct. All possible quantum states, events, possibilities and outcomes are real, eventual and occurring. The chances of everything happening someplace at sometime in the superverse is 100%.

Titor goes on to explain that each one of us has infinite instances of ourselves at the quantum level. We are infinite in all our decisions and choices and somewhere in another universe Titor says we are experiencing an infinite amount of possibilities. He says that each universe has its own independent time line that plays out based off the choices created by the people / consciousness on it. So if somebody were to travel back in time and meet them self as a child, they would change the future of this child on this new time line, and their original self on their current time line would continue on and play out its life. One of Titor's earlier posts explained his time machine as having:

• Two magnetic housing units for the dual micro singularities
• An electron injection manifold to alter mass and gravity micro singularities
• A cooling and X-ray venting system
• Gravity sensors, or a variable gravity lock
• Four main caesium clocks
• Three main computer units

Predictions

John Titor made many predictions that would occur in the coming years. These predictions were all based off actual events that happened during his life up until the year 2036.
American Civil War

It was predicted that there would be a civil war in America. He stated that in 2004 after the presidential elections there would be conflict with the order and the rights.
World War 3

With the uproot of an American civil war, Titor talks about how this later leads into a global world war in 2015. He states that:

In 2015, Russia launches a nuclear strike against the major cities in the United States (which is the "other side" of the civil war from my perspective), China and Europe. The United States counter attacks. The US cities are destroyed along with the AFE (American Federal Empire)...thus we (in the country) won. The European Union and China were also destroyed.

Mad Cow Disease

John Titor also mentions how Mad Cow Disease will become very bad. He says we have only seen the start of it and it will ultimately claim the lives of many. He also mentions the general low quality of the food that we eat. He claims that our food is one of the things that makes him the most nervous about living in this time period.
De-Population

Titor also claims that the world will be de-populated heavily as a result of war and turmoil. He says that the United States population will be cut in 1/2.
Skeptics

Many skeptics say that most of the John Titor claims have either not come ture, are too broad or are completely off. For instance, he said civil war would break out after the 2004 elections but this never occurred.
People also point to Titor's prediction of CERN making strides in an understanding of time travel. He said this would happen in 2001, however no such case occurred. Despite the date being off, CERN is in fact opening their research up in 2008.
Family

During the time that John Titor visited he stayed with his family in Florida. In this universe John Titor visited himself when he was only 2 years old. As of 2008, the John Titor of this world is about 10 years old now. Only time will tell what he has to say on the situation and how it plays out.
His family has currently moved and keeps a low profile and doesn't like to get involved with the story.
The Future, 2036

John Titor explains the future as a lot like 300 years ago. People live in small communities and with their family - he claims he couldn't imagine living away from his family.
Most transportation is done via foot, bicycles, horses and similar methods. He says they still have cars, but prefer the former methods.
They also still have the Internet and he says video sharing is very popular. People create their own shows and entertainment this way, rather than through a major media network.
Titor also talks about how their is no longer a central government or large corporations. These are all broken up and everything becomes much more localized again.

Could John Titor have been a real time traveler?

John Titor is the pseudonymn of a person who claimed to be a time traveler from the year 2036. He appeared in Internet chatrooms and on message boards for a few months back in the winter of 2000 to 2001.

Many people believe John Titor's claims could be valid. I am one of those people.

Of course, there are many scoffers too. I will put up with the jeers and go ahead to tell you exactly what I've learned about John Titor - and why I believe this could be a real time traveler.

The Story of John Titor

...who John Titor was and where he came from.

John Titor told us he was born in 1998. He grew up in Florida, participated in a civil war, and was employed by the military in the year 2036.

He wrote, "When I was 13, I was a soldier. As a teenager, I helped my dad haul cargo. I went to college when I was 31 and I was recruited to 'time travel' shortly after that."

He explained, "In 2036, a great deal of effort is going into 'repairing' our environment. I was sent to 1975 to get a computer system and take it back to 2036."

Later he explained more: "The first 'leg' of my trip was from 2036 to 1975. After two VGL checks, the divergence was estimated at about 2.5% (from my 2036). I was 'sent' to get an IBM computer system called the 5100. It was one the first portable computers made and it has the ability to read the older IBM programming languages in addition to APL and Basic. We need they (sic) system to 'debug' various legacy computer programs in 2036. UNIX has a problem in 2038."

From 1975, he decided to travel to the year 2000 where he was living with his parents and his 2-year-old self.

He traveled back in time in a 1967 Chevy - which he sold in the year 2000. He first saw that car in 2036. It was chosen because his first destination was to be 1975 and the car would be inconspicuous for that time period. His new car was a 1987 4WD, which he planned to return to 2036 in.

John Titor described his life in 2036 in many ways. Here is one paragraph from the collected writings: "My greatest joy is sailing. For fun, I enjoy swimming, playing cards, reading, playing games on the net and talking with people who live in other countries. As a community, we celebrate much more and have bon fires and dances. My hobby is sorting through old magazines and videos of life before the war." He was referring to a civil war in the USA culminating in an attack on America by Russia in 2015.

His observations of life in our civilization during the year 2000 were not flattering: "I watch every day what you are doing as a society. While you sit by and watch your Constitution being torn away from you, you willfully eat poisoned food, buy manufactured products no one needs and turn an uncaring eye away from millions of people suffering and dying all around you. . . . Perhaps I should let you all in on a little secret. No one likes you in the future. This time period is looked at as being full of lazy, self-centered, civically ignorant sheep. Perhaps you should be less concerned about me and more concerned about that."

I feel the writings of John Titor are valuable for just that reason, as well as other reasons. Studying what he wrote gives one a chance for introspection, plus gives clues for what we might experience in the near future.

1. 'A world war in 2015 killed nearly three billion people. The people that survived grew closer together. Life is centered on the family and then the community. I cannot imagine living even a few hundred miles away from my parents.' (November 4, 2000)
2. '... the ice caps are not melting any faster than they are now. There is also far less smog and industrial waste in 2036.' (November 6, 2000)
3. 'Life is much more rural in the future but "high" technology is used to communicate and travel. People raise a great deal of their own food and do more "farm" work. Yes, compared to now, we do work long hours.' (November 7, 2000)
4. 'Yes, there is a post office. The Internet is still alive and well in the future. People spend more time talking because life is more centered on the community. I've noticed the same type of effect here when the power goes off. People tend to come out of their homes and actually spend time with their neighbors. There is a lot more personal trust and less paranoia.' (November 7, 2000)
5. 'There is a civil war in the United States that starts in 2005. That conflict flares up and down for 10 years. In 2015, Russia launches a nuclear strike against the major cities in the United States (which is the "other side" of the civil war from my perspective), China and Europe. The vice president is the president of the senate and they are voted separately.' 'If I could bring some material thing back to your time from 2036, it would be a copy of the new US Constitution.'
