A huge explosion halfway across the galaxy packed so much power it briefly altered Earth's upper atmosphere in December, astronomers said Friday.

No known eruption beyond our solar system has ever appeared as bright upon arrival.

But you could not have seen it, unless you can top the X-ray vision of Superman: In gamma rays, the event equaled the brightness of the full Moon's reflected visible light.

The blast originated about 50,000 light-years away and was detected Dec. 27. A light-year is the distance light travels in a year, about 6 trillion miles (10 trillion kilometers).

The commotion was caused by a special variety of neutron star known as a magnetar. These fast-spinning, compact stellar corpses -- no larger than a big city -- create intense magnetic fields that trigger explosions. The blast was 100 times more powerful than any other similar eruption witnessed, said David Palmer of Los Alamos National Laboratory, one of several researchers around the world who monitored the event with various telescopes.

 

ome researchers have speculated that one or more known mass extinctions hundreds of millions of years ago might have been the result of a similar blast altering Earth's atmosphere. There is no firm data to support the idea, however. But astronomers say the Sun might have been closer to other stars in the past.

A similar blast within 10 light-years of Earth "would destroy the ozone layer," according to a CfA statement, "causing abrupt climate change and mass extinctions due to increased radiation."

Earth's Magnetic Field and Ozone Layer Nearing Total Collapse as Massive Unknown Energy Surges Continue Hitting Planet

News reports from the United States have reached us today telling us that once again the earth

 

On February 25, 2005, in my report titled "New Series of Unknown Energy Surges Begin Hitting Southern Hemisphere, Global Weather Patterns in Ruin", we had again warned these Western peoples, and again to no useful purpose, and now see these same results of these energy blasts causing global weather chaos.

Where previously the largest recorded weather event in human history was when China was shrouded in fog, which covered 86,800 square miles, this new event vastly overshadows this as the continent of Europe is 2,085,000 square miles, and so will make the effects of this new event much more dangerous to human lives.

To the continuation of these energy blast occurring there is no doubt, but as I reported to you in my report titled, "New Series of Unknown Energy Surges Begin Hitting Southern Hemisphere, Global Weather Patterns in Ruin", the Western nations continue their trail of lies to their own peoples about these things, and as I evidenced in that report:

 

The American space organization NASA has further said that their satellites are observing 'Mysterious Earth Energy' in the upper reaches of the earth

 

It is worth noting here how these Western people use their language, English, to confuse and misdirect themselves. As we have continually warned them about these energy blasts hitting our planet, they instead use the words,

This story has caught fire. Seismologist and Geologists are rushing in from all over the world to witness this event. At this time, the only press release is "Don't worry, the earthquakes are not large enough to create a tsunami."

That being said, the excitement is more about witnessing a growing 'volcano' right off the coast of Vancouver Island. A scientific 'SWAT team' from Seattle is sailing this afternoon for a spot off the coast of Vancouver Island, where they suspect an underwater eruption is under way.?

"We really don't know what to expect," said Edward Baker, an oceanographer at the Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory, which is part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). "If we're very lucky, we may get pictures of?brand-new lava on the seafloor." This news release began as a slow simmer, and has now picked up speed and a whole lot of attention, and rightfully so.

Recent studies of past earthquakes indicate a natural cyclical pattern. Although it may be a natural periodic occurrence, no one knows exactly when, how and where the next round of seismic events will unfold. It appears the most vulnerable areas are U.S. Midwest (New Madrid), eastern Canada, Australia?and Germany.

A recent Smithsonian Institute article reports: "Three hundred years of tectonic pressure has now built up since the 1700 tsunami occurred. A recent study estimates that 10 million people on the U.S. West Coast would be affected by a Cascadia subduction-zone quake. Today, the shaking from a quake of the same magnitude would damage 200 highway bridges, put Pacific ports out of business for months, and generate shock waves capable of toppling tall buildings and long bridges in Seattle and Portland."
